Mary Curran Ducey, 69, of 19th Avenue, died Saturday, September 4, 2004 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Mrs. Ducey was a retired Nurses Aid, doing home care in the local area. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bridgett Foxx Curran and the widow of Robert James Ducey. Mrs. Ducey is survived by four daughters, Brenda A. Atkins and her husband Dwight of Charles City, Penny M. Nolan of Hopewell, Doreen M. Bowen of Richmond, Catherine A. Field and her husband Brian of Hopewell, two sons, Robert J. Ducey, Jr. and his wife Tamara of Colonial Heights, and Derek B. Ducey and his wife, Louise of Williamsburg, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Margaret, Rose, Frances, and Helen, one brother, John a niece, Annmarie, and a nephew, William. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 6:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Bond, Rector of St. James Catholic Church officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 PM. Interment will be in Scotland at a later date.
