Mary English

Mary Spivey English, 90, of Hopewell, widow of Richard Edward English, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004. She was born in Nansemond Co., VA and was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Mattie Holland Spivey, Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward A. English. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Almon and Sandy English of Atlantic Beach, NC; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Webb of Hopewell; five grandchildren, Charles Berkley English of Houston, TX, Robert Timothy English, Robin English Webster and Christopher Edward English all of Hopewell, and Almon Anthony English of Washington, D.C. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Willie Cromer, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hopewell Emergency Crew, P. O.
