Mary Clay Graves, 96, a resident of Brighter Living, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011. Born in Dinwiddie County, she was the daughter of the late James Samuel and Sadie Sutherland Clay. Mrs. Graves resided in Richmond for many years and retired from E. I. DuPont Company after 40 years as a secretary. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Richmond and enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was preceded in death by four of her five siblings, Alice Clay Green, Inez Clay Bennett, James W. Clay, and Aubrey S. Clay. She is survived by her brother, Clifton Sutherland Clay and wife, Louise B. Clay; sisters-in-law, Florence S. Clay and Ann B. Clay, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15th at Blandford Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T.
