Mary Lowrance Greenwood

Mary Lowrance Greenwood, 75, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar G. and Lillian Brunell Lowrance. Mary was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano and flute. She was also a member of the St. John’s Knitters. She taught the German language at Matoaca Middle and High Schools for many years. She loved gardening and reading and was a big Boston Red Sox fan. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Richard S. Greenwood; three sons, William of Fairfax; James of Chesterfield; and Richard and wife, Jenny of Katy, TX; granddaughter, Ariella also of Katy, TX; and brother, Edgar G. Lowrance, II and wife, Valley of Pagosa Springs, CO. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 12201 Richmond St., Chester, VA 23831. Interment will follow in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 3886, Chester, VA 23831.
