Mary Harrison

Mary Virginia Harrison, 94, widow of Robert H. Harrison, Sr., died Friday, February 2, 2007. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Shortt, Sr. and Virginia Indiana Shortt. Mrs. Harrison worked for eleven years at Walnut Hill Elementary School and was a longtime member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marie Hack of Colonial Heights, Charles A. Shortt, Jr. of Petersburg, and Arthur Nelson Shortt of San Antonio, TX. Survivors include her daughter, Penny H. Macauley and husband, Jack Macauley; her son, Robert H. Harrison, Jr. and wife, Nancy Harrison; grandchildren, Margaret Proffit and husband, Graham of Greer, SC, Anna Brawley and husband, Vince of Martinez, GA, and Meghan McGowen and husband, Jamie of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Rachel Proffit, Leanna and Harrison Brawley. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday, February 4, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday at Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hauck officiating.
