Mary Kathleen Jackson

September 13, 1945 — July 21, 2021

Mary Kathleen Jackson, 75, passed away peacefully on July 21,2021 while surrounded by loved ones. In the dictionary, the words “Mom” and “Angel” would have a picture of Mary. She is now rid of all pains and her wings are extended to the fullest. Retired from Troutman & Sanders Law Firm after 30 years, she loved her work and her wonderful friends. Raised in South Hill, VA, Mary loved returning to the country to visit family, she loved the simple things in life, and nothing put a bigger smile on her face than to see her two grandkids walk through the door. She will forever be loved and missed. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Wesley E. Williams and Virgil O. Shields; her loving husband of 58 years Durwood M. Jackson as well as her sisters, Mildred Carter, Margaret Gregory, Myrtle Reamey, Jean Williams, and Bobbi Jo Pope. She is survived by her son W. Marshall Jackson (Laura); grandchildren, Lauren Jackson, Austin Jackson, and Caleb Lee (Jasmine); two sisters, Sheffie Blake of Orlando, FL, and Ruth King of South Hill, VA as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends. The family would like to thank the Crater Community Hospice Center (Crystal, Peggy, Mary, Grace, Josephine, Tracy, Karen and others) for the wonderful care and special love given to Mom. Honoring Mary’s wishes the family has decided to have a private service and ask that you keep them in your prayers as they grieve the loss of a wonderful Mom, Mema, Aunt and friend to all. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name can be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA, 23805. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
