Mary "Katie" Lane Vaughn

Mary Lane “Katie” Vaughn, 52, of Dinwiddie County, died peacefully at her home on Monday, June 13, 2016. A native of Charlotte County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Carlton Howard and Madeline Martin Lane. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Lane and Charlie Lane. Katie was a devoted wife, a loving sister, and a loyal friend. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family and friends. She was a fan of NHRA drag racing, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and participating in all sorts of outdoor activities. Katie is survived by her husband, Richard C. “Rick” Vaughn; sisters, Virginia Farrar and Jo Ann Lee, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
