Mary Marr Kennedy

Mary Marr Kennedy, 91, of Chester, VA passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Born in Raleigh, NC she was the daughter of the late Wade and Olive King Marr; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kennedy; two brothers, Wade Marr, Jr. and Hugh Marr, Sr.; and a sister, Olive Snelson. Mrs. Kennedy retired from Hopewell Public Schools as an elementary school teacher. She had served as a volunteer with John Randolph Medical Center, Meals on Wheels and Crater Community Hospice. She was also a charter member of Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church in Chester. Mrs. Kennedy is survived by two nephews, Dr. Hugh Marr, Jr. and wife, Paula Howie and Dr. Alan Marr and wife, Susan; and several great-nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T.
