Mary Frances Nunnally Lucy, 85, of North Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Born and raised in Dinwiddie County on June 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George Benjamin Nunally and Mary Frances Ball Nunnally. She married Charles Edward Lucy, Sr., of Dinwiddie, on October 31, 1952, and together they raised 5 children and spent 59 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed all aspects of family life to include her annual Christmas Eve and Christmas Day get-togethers, annual Brunswick Stews & annual cookouts. She was a lover of the outside and spent many hours birdwatching, and especially enjoyed her yearly visits from the hummingbirds. Her favorite pastime was working on her word searches, fill-in books, and reading the latest Nicholas Sparks novel. She was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church and retired from Titmus Optical Company with 33 years of service. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers; William Nunnally, George Nunnally, and Charles B. Nunnally; and one daughter-in-law, Anna Williamson Lucy. She is survived by her children; Charles E. Lucy, Jr. and wife, Cathy, Richard L. Lucy, Bonnie Lucy Foster and husband, Reid, Connie Lucy Heemer and husband, Walter, and Darrell L. Lucy and his wife, Mary Ann; 10 grandchildren, Charles E. Lucy III (Tammy), Richard L. Lucy, Jr., Wesley L. Lucy (Amy), Jason C. Lucy (Tanya), Lynn Marie Foster, Lisa Reid Foster-Hartsell (Ronnie), Kevin W. Lucy (Kaitlyn), Brittney N. Lucy, Brandon E. Lucy and Keith A. Lucy; 14 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Joshua, Hunter, JC, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Carter, Olivia, Emma, Aden, Aleah, Autumn, Charlie and Judith; two sisters, Avis N. Huskey and husband, Wayne and Evonne Nunnally; one brother, Forrest Nunnally and wife, Mary; brother/sisters-in-law, Cecil and Lorretta Lucy, Marvin and Mary Lucy, and Stan Westfall; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Southlawn Cemetery, 1911 Birdsong Road, with Rev. Rodney Jenkins officiating.
