Mary Marks

Mary Alice Marks, 81, a lifelong resident of Hopewell, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Riverview on the Appomattox. She was the daughter of the late Joe Cone and Hallie Bowles Marks. She was an active member of St. Johnâ??s Episcopal Church, where she was a member of St. Marthaâ??s Guild and the church choir. She was a volunteer with the Hopewell-Prince George Chapter of the American Red Cross, the John Randolph Medical Center Auxiliary, and Riverview on the Appomattox, while she was a resident. She is survived by her nephews, Joe Leonard Marks and wife, Beverly of Arkansas and William Keith Marks of Texas; cousins, Pat Baird and husband, Horace and Alice B. Curtis and husband, Barry all of Colonial Heights; and special friends, Evelyn Seid and Wendy Jennings. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 25th, at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. Mary Alice will also be remembered at the 10:30 AM worship service at St. Johnâ??s on August 30th.
