Mary Jane Montgomery

Mary Jane Montgomery, 69, of Richmond passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Born October 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Everett Laverne and Jane Cox Kier. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Richmond. An exceptional mother and grandmother, Mary devoted all of her time to providing love and support to her family.
She is survived by her son, John Paul Montgomery and his wife, Cristie; daughter, Mary Beth Metschke and her husband, Matt; nine grandchildren, Zach, Catie, Jacob, Hannah, Victoria, Micah, Montana, Liam, Mattie; siblings, Everett Kier, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Martha Eddleton, Ronnie Kier and his wife, Carol; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Virginia Home for their extraordinary care of Mrs. Montgomery during her time of need.
A live-streamed memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 on her memorial page at www.jtmorriss.com . Interment will be private. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Home, 1101 Hampton St, Richmond, VA 23220.
