Mary Jane Murphy

December 25, 1941 — September 26, 2017

Mary Jane (Busch) Murphy, 75, of Prince George, Virginia went home to her Lord on September 26, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Colonel Richard D. Murphy (retired); son Scott Murphy and his wife Jenny, of Austin, Texas; daughter Jennifer Murphy Casey and her husband Michael of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Jordan Murphy, Griffin Murphy, and Emma Casey; a sister, Carolyn Klovstad and her husband John of McKinney, Texas; brother-in-law Ron Murphy and his wife Joyce of Jefferson City, Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that devoted countless hours to volunteer work in her church and community. She was a 1963 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, worked as an elementary school teacher, and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 20 years. She was an active member of Sycamore United Methodist Church where she served in numerous capacities. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Sycamore United Methodist Church at 9710 Old Stage Road in Prince George on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 11 am. Arrangements are being handled by J.T.
