Mary Jane Murray

Mary Jane Murray, 80, of McKenney, passed away on January 8, 2022. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, George Washington Adkins and Victoria Elizabeth Mckinney; husbands, Herbert Lawson Dawson and Edsil Smith Murray; son, Donald Wayne Dawson; grandsons, Christopher Lloyd Raymer and Aisling Storm Loch; and sister, Nancy Carroll Traylor. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and the Bible. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She also cared for all animals and wildlife. Mary is survived by her son, Herbert Dawson, Jr. (Wanda); daughters, Janice Carpenter (John), Betty Jones (Cam), Cathy Dawson Loch; and brothers, Jerry, Willie, Glenn, and Wayne Mckinney; sister, Peggy Moss; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11 AM at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home – Dinwiddie Chapel, 6616 Boydton Road, Dinwiddie, where a service will be held at 12 PM.
