Mary Frances Palmer

Ms. Mary Frances Palmer, 71, of Hopewell, unexpectedly gained her angel wings and entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, June 19, 2017. Born in Kearney, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Albert Leon Yunko and Frances Christiansen Yunko. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine Palmer Jackson; son-in-law, David Ray Jackson III; grandchild, Lily Grace Jackson; brothers, Charles G. Yunko and wife, Eve, and Albert Yunko; nephews, Scott Yunko (Jamie), Casey Yunko; niece, Leslie Finn (Ted); numerous extended family and friends. Ms. Palmer dedicated 35 years of her life working as a civilian employee for the United States Army at Fort Lee, VA, before retiring in 2001. She received numerous medals and honors for outstanding performance. Ms. Palmer enjoyed reading and spoiling her granddaughter, Lily. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family's needs before her own. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
