Mary Nancy Parnell

Mary Nancy Parnell, 88, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice Center in Florence, SC. She had been living at the Methodists Manor of Pee Dee in Florence since 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Jane Hodgin Parnell and Clarence James Parnell; and brother, Jimmy (CJ) Parnell. Although she lived away from Chester in her last few years, Chester was always first in her heart. She would entertain guests with stories about early “life on the Pike” and later on raising chickens at her home on Shop Street. She participated in many activities as an active member of Chester United Methodist Church. Nancy is survived by her nephews, Terry Parnell and Tim Parnell both of Florida; and numerous extended families. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Chester United Methodists Church.
