Mary Jean Queensberry

January 30, 1934 — October 24, 2013

Mary Jean Queensberry, 79, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was born in Cave City Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Clydes Leo McConnaughhay and Madell Campbell McConnaughhay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Queensberry; and son, Joseph Leo Queensberry. Mary was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Collegiate and Recorder for Women of the Moose, and retired after many years as a Bookkeeper at Petersburg High School. She is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Queensberry Grant (James) and Karlene Queensberry Lynch (Michael); Grandchildren, Betsy Jean Glass (Jeffrey), Derrick Lee Grant (Paula), Brandi Farley (Scott), Crystal Queensberry, Justin Mayes (Michelle), Brittany Staton, and Dale Staton; Mary has 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Doug, Clyde, and Donald McConnaughhay. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
