Mary Elizabeth Pittman Rogers, 93, of Wakefield, Va., died Aug. 21, 2011, in Surry County, Va. She was predeceased by her husband S. Oliver Rogers, two sisters, Frances Brantley, also of Wakefield, and Marion Troxler of Raleigh, N.C., her brother, Ernest Pittman of Wakefield, Va., and her daughter-in-law Jane Abramson of Great Falls, Va. Born on March 10, 1918, in Dendron, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest â??Buddyâ? and Emma Grubbs Pittman. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, a member of the Wakefield Womanâ??s Club and the Dendron Historical Society. She also volunteered at the Troxler Memorial Library that was named in memory of her sister, Marion. She is survived by three sons, Ernest O. Rogers of Great Falls, Va.; Thomas D. Rogers and his wife Connie Boyer of Richmond, Va.; and Jerry L. Rogers and his wife, Penna Rogers, of Wakefield, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at Rocky Hock Methodist Church with the Rev.
