Mary Hapstak Roman, 91, of Chester died on her birthday, January 3, 2005, in Alexandria, Virginia. She was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia, the daughter of Frank and Julianna Mirgucz Hapstak of Prague, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary. The family moved to Hopewell, Virignia, when Mary was three years of age. Mary was the widow of Norbert Roman Stoklosa of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Chester, Virginia. Mary Hapstak and Norbert Roman moved to Chester in 1948. Mary is survived by two daughters, Marianne Roman Ingold and husband, David Alan Ingold of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mary Julianne Roman-Daffron of RIchmond, Virginia; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Ingold of Alexandria, Virginia, two grandsons, David Matthew Ingold of Alexandria, Virginia, and Philip Valentine Daffron, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia. Interment was on January 11, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Cementary. A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be conducted at Chester Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2005, with The Reverend Doctor Edward J. Stansfield officiating.
