Mary Galt Singleton Woodacre, 49, of Disputana, Virginia, a much beloved servant of the Lord passed away on April 10, 2011 after a very lengthy and arduous battle with her illness. Mary Galt known to many as Mary; graduated from Mary Mount High School, in Richmond. She attended Southside Regional Memorial Nursing School, in Petersburg, and graduated from Virginia State University. She developed a keen interest and passion for caring for small children and infants with a supportive and nurturing environment. Mary Galt worked for over 20 tireless years in support of her passion in Prince George County where she and her family have lived. Among Maryâ??s favorite pastimes were attending church, reading, doing Sudoku puzzles, visiting with family and friends and vacationing at her favorite beach, Topsail Island, N.C. Mary Galt is survived by her husband Thomas Woodacre and their children Joshua Billington Woodacre and Elizabeth Carrington Woodacre, along with her beloved cat, Mr. Sniffles. She is also survived by her father Mr. Ogle R. (Duke) Singleton of Richmond, her mother Mariana Foster Cabell Singleton pre-deceased her. Additionally; she is survived by her brothers, J. Cabell Singleton, wife Taryn, and their family of Midlothian, and her brother William A. (Alec) Singleton and wife Jen, and their family of Winterpock, Va. Mary Galt is also survived by a brother-in-Law, David Woodacre of Milford, Massachusetts; and three sister-in-laws; Nancy Keith and her husband Robert, from North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Lynn Grayson, and husband Tony, from Darlington, Indiana, and Cindy Webb, from West Borrow, Massachusetts. She is also survived by two aunts, an uncle, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A service, of celebration for her life, will be held at the Christ & Grace Church located at 1545 South Sycamore Street Petersburg, Va., on Wednesday, April 13, at one oâ??clock in the afternoon. The Reverend David Teschner will officiate. Interment will follow at the South Lawn Memorial Park, in Prince George County. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make contributions to the Christ & Grace Church, or to your favorite charity.
