Mary Frances Smith, 85, of Disputanta, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born in Prince George, VA she was the daughter of the late Morton and Virgie Emory Brockwell. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy S. Bollinger; son-in-law, Johnny Lee Bollinger; brother, Lawrence “Cutter” M. Brockwell, Sr; nephew, Bruce A. Brockwell; mother-in-law, Myrtle M. Smith; and father-in-law, Hubert E. Smith. Mrs. Smith worked in Civil Service retiring after 37 years from Fort Lee. She was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church in Prince George. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and bingo. She had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Most of all, she loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Ted J. Smith; grandson, Brian Bollinger; great-granddaughters, Nancy Ella Bollinger and Katy May Frances Bollinger; brother, John R. Brockwell and his wife, Jean; nieces, Judy Brockwell, Amy Lynn King, and Jennifer B. Bonner; nephew, Lawrence Brockwell; and numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
