Mary Lou Dingess Thompson, 74, of Hopewell, died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born in Griffithsville, WV. She was a retired operator for Allied Chemical Corp., a graduate of Marshall University, a member of Sandfork Missionary Baptist Church, and the Allied Chemical Retiree?s Club. Mrs. Thompson was preceeded in death by her parents, Bernie C. and Sada Stowers Dingess , her husband, Billy Gene Thompson, a brother, Billy Joe Dingess and her sister, Peggy D. Bell. Surviving are her daughters, Kathryn Cooper and friend ,Jimmy Hall of Colonial Heights, Tamrus Riggleman and husband William of Chester, Darlene Thompson and friend, Mike Edwards of Hopewell, a son, Ronald Thompson of Hopewell, seven grandchildren, Stephanie Roberts and husband Larry, Ben Andrews and friend, Kimberly, Karen and Sarah Riggleman ,all of Chester, Kelly Patterson and husband Cameron of Prince George, Shayna Thompson of Colonial Heights, and Leighanna Grimsley of Hopewell, five great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Billy Roberts, Dayton and Collin Patterson and Caden Riggleman, a special cousin, Esther Lovejoy of Alum Creek, WV . The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 1:30 PM in the Hopewell chapel with Rev. Tom Taylor and Andy Paul, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
