Mary Lou Welsh, 81, of Petersburg, VA died March 16, 2013 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond. A native of Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of Harry and Virginia Broyles Cave and the foster daughter of Percy and Ruth Cogle Brigman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Winston Cave, sisters, Anne Rountree and Betty Andrews, and her life-long best friend Evelyn Radcliffe. She lived in Petersburg most of her life, and worked at Titmus Optical and Brown & Williamson. She is survived by her niece, Julie M. Welch and her husband, Ronnie of Petersburg, niece Amy Welch Richards, and her husband, Don of Surry, and nephew, Rusty Welch and his wife, Melanie of Dinwiddie. Special “little ones” in her life, nephew and nieces, Owen and Avery Welch and Jenna and Olivia Richards. She is also survived by nieces, Lydia Rountree and Anne Michael Bradley and nephews, Derwood “Dudy” Rountree and Joseph Rountree, great nieces, Beth Anne Watson and Melissa Burns and great nephew, Jeremy Bradley. A memorial service will be held at Blandford United Methodist Church, 11607 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805 on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Jacob Sahms officiating.
