Marye Covington Robinson of Hopewell, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 after a courageous battle with Parkinsonâ??s disease. Marye was 84 years old. She was one of 12 children raised by her mother and father, Parthenia and Willie Covington. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles W. â??Robbieâ? Robinson, who was her devoted care-giver for the past ten years; her daughter, Gwendolyn Willard and husband, Marshall, of Richmond; her daughter-in-law, Julie Robinson of Chester; and sisters, Marjorie Covington of Ashland and June Hundley of Seabrook, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving son, Charles Jerry Robinson. Her talents were many and especially evident as a self-taught artist, accomplished seamstress, and outstanding cook. She was a dedicated member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hopewell until Parkinsonâ??s complications kept her at home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bermuda Hundred Memorial Park.
