Matthew Bernard Pierce Iii

Matthew Bernard Pierce, III, 57, of Prince George, VA, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Bernard “Buck” Pierce, Jr. and Phyllis Archer Pierce; a sister, Wanda Henshaw; and brother-in-law, Edward Joyner. Bernard was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tracy Joyner Pierce; daughters, Blair Short (Brian) and McKenzie Pierce; sister, Rita Pate (Terry); father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Mary Ann Joyner; sister-in-law, Tammy J. Tucker (Bubba); nieces and nephews, Amy, Megan, E.J., and Brandon, as well as Mitchell, Emileigh, Savannah, and Wyatt who affectionately called him “Bern Bern.” The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
