Maxine Johnson Klooz

Maxine Johnson Klooz, 91, of Hopewell, died on Saturday, July 15, 2023. She was born in Sanford, NC, and a 1996 Department of Social Services retiree in accounting. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, serving as Recorder, Academy of Friendship and Publicity Chairman, earning Star Recorder and Academy of Friendship Degrees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Klooz, Sr.; son, Vance Johnson, Sr. and wife, Linda; parents, Graham and Cathryne Talley; sister, Frances Allen; and brothers, Monroe and Lynne Talley. Surviving is brother, Harry (Marie) Talley of Youngsville, NC; grandchildren, Joy Johnson and Graham Vance Johnson, Jr.; stepsons, David Klooz (Ellen), and Michael Klooz (Holli) of NC, and Robert A. Klooz, Jr. (Hasoon) of Midlothian, VA; great-grandchildren, Trevor Myers, Drew and Stone Sober, Caroline Johnson, and Madalon Johnson; and many in NC. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
