Maxine Saunders Williams

Maxine Saunders Williams, 88, of Hopewell passed away on Thursday January 18, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Beulah Smith Saunders; her loving husband, William “Bill” B. Williams; sister, Christine Saunders Hosea; and her brothers, James Larry Saunders and Charles R. Saunders. Maxine was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Hopewell where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She had a love for mission work that led her to serve as WMU Director with the church. Along with her love for her family and church family, she enjoyed spending time with her many friends at Cobblestone. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Karen Williams Wilson and her husband, Tripp, Susan Williams Traylor and her husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Courtney Wilson Bujakowski and her husband, Lee, Ashley Wilson Holmes and her husband, Timothy, Zack Traylor and his wife, Sarah, Sarah Traylor Porter and her husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Wilson Bujakowski, and Haddie Traylor; brother, Glenn William Saunders, Jr. and his wife, Betty Jane; sisters-in-laws, Carol Saunders and Anne Saunders; numerous other nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
