Sadly, on Thursday, April 18th, the world lost a bright shining star and Heaven gained an Angel. Melanie Gail Foreman, 21 of Chesterfield Virginia, was taken from her parents Debra and Victor Foreman and her beloved brother Max. Mel graduated from Cosby High School and was a Senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Evolutionary Biology with Ecology and Environmental Studies. Melanie was also a gifted and talented artist who shared her work with all of us. Mel planned to save our planet and the animals who inhabit it; while adding her own special beauty and magic to everything she did. She is survived by her loving Paternal Grandmother, Alice Foreman; Paternal Grandfather, Mike Durkot; Aunt Sallie Seaton-Elliot (Michael), Uncle Bert Foreman (Amy), Aunt Gail Durkot Kocemba, Aunt Susan Durkot Williston (Dan), Uncle Michael Durkot (Kim); Cousins, Joe, Ben, Lucy, Charlotte, Callie, Ellen, Erik, Leo and numerous other family members. Scores of friends including boyfriend, Eric Elflein and Tori Felice. She was preceded in death by Paternal Grandfather, John Foreman, Maternal Grandmother, Snookie (Carolyn) Webb and her husband, Bob Webb; and Ruth Durkot. We will all miss her sense of style, creativity, intelligence, purpose and the light that radiated around her. A celebration of Melanie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 27th, at Chester Baptist Church, 4317 School Street, Chester, VA 23831.
