Melinda "Missie" Leigh Scott

Melinda "Missie" Leigh Scott, 57, of Hopewell, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. Warren, Sr., and Evelyn Weaver Warren; and nephew, A.J. Sculthrope.

Missie was born on September 1, 1965, and a lifelong resident of Hopewell, Virginia. She had an unwavering love and passion for her family and friends. Throughout her life she set an amazing example of how love is the key to life. She bravely and honorably fought cancer while also nourishing her ailing father. Among many things, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and caretaker. Her time here was too short, but she will be remembered for her absolute, unwavering love, and her ability to find a shark's tooth whenever her feet where in the sand.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Scott; her children, Jonathan Cox, April Smith (Greg), Jessica Scott (Jr.), Emily King, Christian Wagner, Austin Warren (Anna), Chris Scott, and Angel Zevgolis (Aaron); sister, Kelly Sculthrope (Bryan); brothers, David Warren Jr. (Terri), and Jerry Warren (Mary Ginny); numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and loving friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
