Melva Citty Church

Melva F. Church, 98, of Chester, a seven year resident of Magnolias of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born in Bedford, VA on May 17, 1917. Mrs. Church was a much beloved Mother and Granny, she is survived by her six children, Robert F. (May), M. Jane Eggleston, Linwood E. (Lorraine), Allen B. (Shirley), Lynn W. (Nancy), and Brenda Rafter (Jim). She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Church was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A.; a son-in-law; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
