Melvin T. â??Honeyâ? Parcell, 86, of Hopewell, passed away at his residence on Saturday May 26, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents; David Allen & Ada Isabell Williams Parcell, a son; Michael Douglas Parcell, and a great granddaughter Tahniyah Nicole Wallace. Honey was a veteran of WWII serving in both the Atlantic Theater and the Pacific Theater with the United States Navy. He was employed as a machinist at Allied Chemical Fiberâ??s Division and retired after 24 years of dedicated service, was an avid golfer, loved taking his family on vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Honey is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Hazel H. Parcell, daughters; Kathi Elaine Freeman & husband, J.C., Elizabeth Ann Harris & husband, Ricky, Teri Lynn Lovin & husband, Carson, sons; Mark Anthony Parcell & wife, Ann, Melvin Thomas Parcell & wife, Marlene, daughter-in-law; Dana G. Parcell, brother; David Burton Parcell, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Unity Baptist Church in Prince George County on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chris Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Bermuda Memorial Park.
