Melvin "Moose" Victor Taylor Jr.

Melvin “Moose” Victor Taylor, Jr., 64, of Aylett, VA passed away August 8, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 20, 1957 to the late Helen Barkman and Melvin Taylor. Moose was raised in Hopewell, VA and became a faithful member of Sycamore United Methodist. He attended Hopewell High School, where he lived all of his life. His love of cars was well-known, and he was an accomplished Automotive mechanic for 35 years. He was a member of the band ‘Axeworthy’ and a lifelong lover of Rock N’ Roll and crude t-shirts. Moose lit up every room and his sense of humor could keep a crowd laughing. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Sherry Lufsey Taylor; son, William Taylor; stepson, Darrell Aleshire, Jr. (Ashley); stepdaughter, Autumn Aleshire; grandchildren, Abigail, Owen, Jackson, Ella Kate; sister, Helene Polascik; and his loving companion, Chloe. The funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. on August 11, 2021 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation one-hour prior, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11th at the Hopewell Chapel. Attendees are welcome to dress casually and dress in their favorite Rock N’ Roll T-shirts. The family also asks that attendees please wear a mask.
