Michael Shane Dunaway

Michael Shane Dunaway, 51, of Chester, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late James "Timmy" Dunaway and he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Cora and Tom Shook, and Walter Wells and Sadie Rainey. Mike loved to tell stories, and if you had heard them before, they were just as funny as they were the first time. He loved cars and spent many days drag racing at both the Dinwiddie and Richmond Drag ways, and fixing his friends cars as well. Mike was hard to get close to, but once you were close to him, you could see how much of a loyal and dedicated friend he was. Mike was a hard working man and took pride in all he did. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Roy Wells; his loving wife, Amy Dunaway; two stepdaughters, Zora Marion and Kayline Sharp; one grandson, Miles Garrison; and numerous other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome, or contributions may be made to the Bon Secours Hospice House, in memory of Michael S.
