Michael Alexander Hevener, 59, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on the night of December 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hevener, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Thelma Hevener; his two brothers, Raymond Hevener, Jr. (Jodi) and Steven Hevener; his four children, Gia (Zach) Sweet, Taylor Hevener, Kayla (Dillon) Goolsby, and Kara Hevener; two grandsons, Callahan Goolsby and Holden Sweet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born and raised in Chester, Virginia, attending Thomas Dale High School and became a staple in the community working for his parents' long running service stations and family business, Hevener's Tire & Auto. He retired after 18 years of service from DuPont, making Kevlar and being the Union leader.
He was known for his love of sports, particularly football and golf. You could find him every Sunday either rooting for The Cowboys or trying to get 18 holes in. He will be loved and remembered by all.
A service for friends and family will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home (3050 W Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23831), on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 3pm-5pm with a Eulogy being read around 4:40pm. For those who wish to attend, do not feel obligated to dress in suit and tie, as that is not something Michael would have wanted.
