Michael Ray Hunter

Michael Ray Hunter, 38, of Disputanta, VA, died December 13, 2023. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of Raymond Lee Hunter and Maureen Theresa Burroughs. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, and brother-in-law.

Mike was a simple man with an old soul who had a passion for using his 20+ years of trade skills to support his family that he loved dearly. Mike was an innovator, there was never a problem he could not solve. When Mike was not being the jack of all trades, he enjoyed spending warm days on the water with his wife and daughter. In the cooler months Mike enjoyed scouting the woods hunting deer. Nothing filled Mike's heart more than showing his unwavering love to his wife, Jamie and laughing endlessly with her. They shared a common love for humorous jokes and building their homestead together. Mike was a hardworking family man and is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jamie Lundie; daughters, Chloe and Kayle Hunter; father-in-law, Gerald Lundie; brothers-in-law, Derek Lundie and his wife, Bethany Lundie and Blake Lundie and his wife, Alexa Lundie; as well as his nephews, Levi and Eli Lundie.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Petersburg Chapel.
