Michael Anthony Minnicino

Michael Anthony Minnicino, age 78, passed away on March 13, 2023, in Richmond, VA.

Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, dog dad, and amateur hoarder. Michael loved his wife, Sherry; his children, Michael, Christa, and Luke; his five grandchildren; and his dogs.

Michael was born in Irvington, NJ, on February 9, 1945, to Philip and Elietta Minnicino. He was raised in Westfield, NJ, with his older sister, Camille and graduated from Westfield High School in 1963. He went on to Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, in 1967. Soon after, Michael started his professional career when he was recruited by Ford Motor Company in Detroit, MI, as an automotive engineer. He went on to work as a mechanical engineer at Dresser Rand in Olean, NY, American Tobacco in Chester, VA, and more while also founding Performance Engineering and Machine Company in Chester, VA, which he successfully ran for more than 30 years.

Michael was known for his quick wit and larger-than-life sense of humor, and loved to tell jokes and stories, some factual and others less so. He was a devout enthusiast of Dad Jokes to the amusement and sometimes bemusement of his children and grandchildren. Michael was also an avid car enthusiast; he built his first car show winning hot-rod as a teenager, and forever loved classic cars and the sport of auto racing. He was also charitable as well as religious and practiced his faith weekly. However, Michael's focus was always on providing for his family and for the college education of his children and grandchildren.

Michael was a great man, husband, father, and friend whose deeds will be forever remembered by his family and friends who loved him.

Michael's viewing is at J.T. Morriss & Son in Chester, VA, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on March 23, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the funeral home. Michael will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA.
