Michael Gregory Powers

Michael Gregory “Greg” Powers, 60, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Born in Highland Springs, VA he was the son of the late Charles Raymond Powers and Doris Spencer Pope; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray Powers. Greg was affectionately known by many of his friends and family as “Moose”. He was currently employed by Dominion Energy and had been for there for 42 years. Moose loved to play football, baseball and golf, and was a member of the Highlands Golf Club. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always willing to help a family member at a moment’s notice. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pamela Powers; his son, Michael Travis Powers and wife, Robynne; two daughters, Lindsay Ann Powers and husband, Michael Wyant, and Nicole Powers and husband, Aaron Unger; four granddaughters, Andy, Evelyn, Grace and Spencer; step-father, Donald Pope; and two sisters, Vickie and Pam. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
