Michael Eugene Sexton

Michael E. Sexton, 71, was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, to Howard and Bobbie Sexton. He was predeceased by his father. Mike leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Susan; his children, Corie (Joshua) and Field; his beloved grandson, Ian; siblings, Debbie (Allen), Peggy, and Bruce; and many loved nieces and nephews. Mike was a long-time member of Enon Baptist Church, where he and Susan attended and participated in many of the church's projects and services. He had many careers over his lifetime. When Mike and Susan met he was active duty Navy, and stayed in service for nine years, three of which they spent in Hawaii. After this he spent many years working for Dominion Energy, followed by other companies. He also worked as a real estate agent before retiring from that work recently. Mike and Susan enjoyed traveling, especially to Buckroe Beach and Florida. In recent years he spent lots of time with his grandson, Ian, who thought the sun rose on Mike. He had also just started a new hobby making beautiful wood and resin pieces. Mike's high level of activity brought him into contact with so many people, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a stranger to none and a helper to all. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 1pm - 2pm, at Enon Baptist Church, 13607 N Enon Church Road, Chester, VA 23836. A funeral service will follow at 2pm, at Enon Baptist Church. Internment will immediately follow at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836.
