Michael Maury Shannon

Michael Maury Shannon, 51, of Disputanta, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Raymond Shannon, Sr. Michael was previously a police officer for the City of Richmond. He loved spending time at the beach with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sheila R. Shannon; daughter, Gracie Shannon; mother, Barbara Shannon; step-mother, Callie Shannon; brother, Gene R. Shannon, Jr., and wife, Dana; sister, Joy Florence and husband, Rick; and niece, Jessica Florence. A funeral service will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery.
