Michael Wayne Thomas

Michael Wayne Thomas, 69, of Petersburg, passed away on April 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Jeannette Thomas; and a brother, Glenn Thomas. 

Mike worked at Edgehill Supermarket until it closed. He then went on to work at the Walmart in Colonial Heights, until his retirement.

Michael is survived by his son, Jordan Wilson Thomas; sister, Joan Thomas Maslow; brother, Larry "Boo" Thomas; and a close niece, Shelby Thomas Swayzee.

The family would like to thank Mike's close friends and caregivers for taking care of him; and also to Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion.

A service will be held at Smith Grove United Methodist Church, 8301 Smith Grove Lane, North Dinwiddie, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm, with Pastor Sadie Hawthorne officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
