Michael Joseph Turner

Michael J. Turner, of Prince George County passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017. Born in Norfolk, VA on January 14, 1948. He is survived by his son, Charles Michael Turner and wife, Tayyaba Syed of Richmond, VA; a daughter, Sonnet Williams of Colonial Heights, VA; sister, Dorothy T. Borkey of Florida; brother, David L. Turner of Lowell, NC; nieces, Kathryn Newman of Florida, Betty Harrell of Mechanicsville, VA, and Christy Gulledge of NC. Michael graduated from Prince George High and played in the high school band. He was in the Army and served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He retired from Yellow Freight, Inc. He was loved by family, close friends and neighbors. Visitation will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 4, 2017. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Final interment will take place at Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George.
