Michael Paul Zevgolis, 82 of Hopewell passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and has been the owner operator of the Hopewell Bowling Center since 1955. Mr. Zevgolis was a former member of the A.H.E.P.A., the Hopewell Moose Lodge, Hopewell Optimist Club, and was inducted into the Petersburg District Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He was also one of the highest ranked chess players in Virginia, and has been involved for many years in the Hopewell School Systems and day cares by giving lessons and providing bus transportation to the bowling alley, and wrote bowling articles for the Hopewell News . Mr. Zevgolis is preceded in death by his parents Paul Stephen and Antonia Hios Zevgolis; siblings, Stephen P. Zevgolis, Kiki Z. Mitsis, George P. Zevgolis, Diana Z. Alexander. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy M. Zevgolis of Hopewell; son, Robert Michael Zevgolis and his wife Stephanie of Prince George; daughter, Tina Marie Zevgolis of Hopewell; grandchildren, Katie Lynn and Evan Michael Zevgolis of Prince George; siblings, Katherine Z. Owens of Prince George, Mary Z. Moore of Hopewell, Irene Z. Burton and her husband Frank of Alexandria, A.J. Tony Zevgolis of Hopewell, William P. Zevgolis and his wife Kathy of Prince George, Sophia Z. Traylor and her husband James of Colonial Heights, Helen â?Nitsaâ? Z. Martin and her husband James of Hopewell, Victoria H. Zevgolis; one sister in law Mrs. George P. Zevgolis â??Bebaâ? of Raleigh N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held 11am on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George.
