Mildred Green

Mildred Clay Green, 96, of Sutherland went to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fielding K and Mary Kate Sutherland Clay; her husband, Frank C. Green; brothers, Eugene, Roy, and Herbert Clay and sister, Lucille Berard. Mrs. Green retired from Midway School after 24 years of service as Librarian. She was a life long member of Central Baptist Church and was an adult Sunday school teacher and the clerk of the church. She is survived by her children, Patricia G. Kirby of Baltimore, Maryland; John F. Green of West Cornwall, Connecticut; Charlotte G. Emerson (James F.) of Wilsons, Virginia; and Thomas F. Green (Francene) of Sutherland, Virginia; grandchildren, Trish Kirby, James Emerson, John Emerson, Stephen Green, Paula Weddle (Billy), Bert Green, Emily Newman, and Jonathan Newman; great grandchildren, Ann-Marie Emerson and Alan Emerson and great great grandchild, Nevaeh Muniz. The family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the church with Rev. Jonathan Waits officiating. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 6405 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833.
