Mildred Davis House, 95, died on Friday, March 16, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Better known as Midge, she was born in Chester in 1916, the daughter of the late Robert Berkeley and Linda Coleman Davis. Educated at Longwood College, she taught in the Public School systems of Chesterfield and Alleghany counties. In 1942, she married William A. House and moved to Southwest Virginia where they lived until 1986 when they returned to Chester to spend their retirement years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and by a brother, Robert Coleman Davis. Survivors include Ned and Marla Coleman of Studley; Jon Colin Neblett of West Point and Nancy Andrews Batte of Dinwiddie. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 12201 Richmond St, PO Box 3886, Chester, VA, 23831; or to the Boyâ??s Home, 103 Boyâ??s Home Road, Covington, Virginia 24426.
