Mildred Mccullen Rawlings

Mildred McCullen Rawlings, 88, of Wilmington, NC, and formerly of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lillian Leslie McCullen, her brother, Edwin McCullen; and her loving husband of 60 years, Henry “Jake” W. Rawlings. Mildred liked to read, sew, and play cards, in her spare time. She also loved boating and swimming at Lake Gaston in her younger years. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Rawlings Smith and her husband, Louis, and Debra Page Rawlings; grandchildren, Hope Capparelli and husband, Gustavo, Christopher Foxworth and wife, Terrina, Adrian Angelina and fiance, Megan, Luke Smith and wife, Emily, Jessica Green and husband, Zach, Angela Collawn, Kelley Carter and husband, Lance; and 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior at the Chapel from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
