Mildred Hartman Thompson

Mildred Hartman Thompson, 83, of Chester, VA passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmore and Mary Hartman; daughter, Teresa Spillman; brother, Elmore Hartman, Jr; sisters, Audrey Hartman and Betty Fisher. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Sullivan (Randy), Susan Owens (Bob), Paula Bridgman (Mark), Tracey Collins, Wendy Sams (Travis) and Alexis Smith; sons, James Waters, III, Richard Waters (Teresa) and Stephen Thompson (Kathy); 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; loving and devoted companion, James Hase and his children, Barbara, Randy, Bill and Linda; sister, Marion Hudson; numerous extended family and friends. Mildred loved gardening, dancing, fishing and family gatherings. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the funeral home.
