Mildred Croshaw Walston, 96, of Petersburg, Virginia peacefully entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 26. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Walston and her only sibling, Ms. Merle H. Croshaw. She was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Croshaw of Petersburg. Mrs. Walston was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she played the piano for numerous years. A dedicated Christian, her faith and love of the Lord was displayed every day of her life. She was a joyful resident at the Petersburg Home for Ladies for the past ten years. Mrs. Walston is survived by several cousins including Charlotte Croshaw, Frankie Sue Gay, Glenn and Kendra Croshaw and Wayne and Mary Ellen Croshaw. Mrs. Walston also leaves behind a family related by love which includes George and Emily Andre?, J.W. ?Jack? Howell, Julie Andre?, Kay A. and Terrill Porter, Cheri A. and Daryl Clary, Ann A. and Tom Hogan, Paul Andre? and many others. She also leaves six ?great-grandchildren? and many close friends and staff members at the Petersburg Home for Ladies. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Gerald M. Miller, former minister of Trinity United Methodist Church, Wednesday, March 1 at 11:00 am in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will follow immediately in Blandford Cemetery. A private service for the residents of the Petersburg Home for Ladies will be held at 2:30 pm the same day at the Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice of Petersburg at 840 West Roslyn Road, Suite E, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 or the American Cancer Society.
