Milford Thomas Walker, 81, of Prince George, VA, died Monday, December 19, 2016. Born in Hampton, VA, he was the son of the late MSGT Walter S. and Dorothy E. Walker. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1952, Mr. Walker enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea, Japan, Okinawa, aboard the USS Hancock, USS Iwo Jima and USS Princeton, and a combat tour in Vietnam. After his retirement, he attended Richard Bland College and St. Leo’s University earning degrees in business, sociology, and criminology. He worked for one year at Petersburg General Hospital before entering federal service at Fort Lee, VA, retiring in January 1995. Gunnery SGT Walker is a Master Mason and is a member of Petersburg Lodge No. 15, Dinwiddie Lodge No. 136, Dupont Lodge No. 289, and Edwards Lodge No. 308. He served as Worshipful Master six times and was honored to serve the 29th Masonic District as District Deputy Grand Master in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Peteti Tyreece Moore; four sons, Sammie Walker of Fairborn, OH, Buddie Walker of Newport News, Glenn Walker and Arnold Walker both of Prince George, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service with Amaranth and Masonic Rites will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
