Millard Lee Brickle, 93, of Chester, VA passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Born in Pensacola, FL he was the son of the late Rueben and Betty Brickle; a brother, Preston; and a daughter, Sherry. He started his military career in the United States Army and then transferred into the United States Navy for 4 years, and went on to retire from the United States Air Force after 16 years of dedicated service as a helicopter mechanic. While in the military, he had served in both Korea and Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the military, in 1989 he went to work for the United States Postal Service retiring after 39 years. Millard loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with friends. He was a member of both the American Legion and VFW Post 637. Mr. Brickle will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by three daughters, Millicent, Virginia and Louise; five grandchildren, Patricia, James, Nikole, Porsha and Vincent; three sisters, Ruby, Jeanette and Deanna; cousin, Judy; and special friend, Arlene; and friend more like a brother, Gilbert Milton. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
