Millie Mccumber Nelson

Millie McCumber Nelson, 68, of Hopewell, VA passed away on August 11, 2021. She was born to the late Junior Maxium McCumber and Elsie Mae McCumber. Millie was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, David Conner. She is survived by her children, Trisha Nelson Strickland (Danny), Chris Nelson and Mark Nelson; the father of her children, Steve Nelson; sisters, Carol Conner (James) & Wilma Ross (Tony); grandchildren, Grayson Nelson and Rylee Nelson; god-grandchildren, Hannah Dunlow, Damien Dunlow, Clayton Lucas and Julie Lucas; special friends, Patricia Piotrowski and Terry Wisniewski; furry companion, Torie and grandpets, Stagger Lee and Jade. Millie graduated from Hopewell High School in 1971, later went on to study photography which she had a passion for she then completed nursing school. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA 23860. During the visitation, a memorial service will take place from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Petersburg and Colonial Heights, 104 Pickwick Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
