Milton Erwin Dance, of Richmond, Va. entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 30, 2005. Born in Chester, Va. and a 1946 graduate of Thomas Dale High School, his love for baseball was fulfilled as a member of several semi-pro teams, Chester, Beulah, Colonial Heights and DuPont, where ?Ace? retired after more than 37 years service as a mechanic. He was an Army veteran of WW II. In addition to his love for baseball, he umpired many sports in Chesterfield County. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Kingsland Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone and will be missed greatly as he takes his place with the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Christine; three sons and their wives, Steve and Cindy, Mike and Sandi and David and Juli; one daughter, Jeanne Brock and her husband, Ashton; eight grandchildren, Mike, Jr., Melissa, Chris, Phillip, Hannah, Bonnie, Emily and Joshua; one great-grandchild, Karlee; and three sisters, Marguerite St. Clair, Lois Reeves and Lillian Bryant; and several nieces and nephews all of Chester. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, at 11 A.M. at Kingsland Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
